A Hybrid Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Framework for Ship-Equipment Suitability Evaluation Using Improved ISM, AHP, and Fuzzy TOPSIS Methods

The inherent complexity of large ships makes it challenging to evaluate ship designs systematically and scientifically. Knowledge-based expert systems can be reasonable solutions. However, this problem needs more rationality better operability, especially in complicated ship-equipment suitability evaluation problems with numerous indicators complex structures. This paper presents a hybrid multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) framework extend the group settings, where individual consistency consensus are thoroughly investigated improve operability. As result, an improved Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) method is developed construct index systems. Furthermore, based on applicability analysis selected MCDM methods, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) proposed distribute weights, applicable Fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity Ideal Solution (Fuzzy TOPSIS) utilized select appropriate designs. Finally, environmental case examined. results indicate that improves operability process provides practical support decision-makers systematic scientific Therefore, also applied other design selection problems.
